Last month I told you about Jennifer Hudson’s amazing performance during TV One’s “Hello Beautiful Interludes Live…” Jenny from my block killed it, putting on a great performance that had attendees on their feet at The Cutting Room in New York City. She performed a couple of her earlier hits like “Spotlight” and her new single “Walk It Out” from her yet-to-be-titled upcoming album. She surprised us with a “Dreamgirls”-esque performance of “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” and rendition of the Whitney Houston classic “Saving All My Love.” That was awesome! And, girlfriend looked good, very good. You may not have been in the Big Apple for the taping but you’ll get a chance to witness the magic Saturday at 9 p.m. ET at www.CelebrateBlackTV.com. Yep, you can watch the full show there! Trust me, you’ll want to check it out.
In the meantime, you can watch video clips from the special, including a behind-the-scenes video featuring interviews with Tamron Hall, co-host of the “Today” show, who helped introduced Jennifer that evening, and attendees. There’s also videos of Smokey Fontaine, Chief Content Officer at Interactive One, hanging in the studio with Jennifer. And be sure to check out which celebrities came out to show love for Jennifer via a slideshow of great photos from the evening (shout out to Soul Brother for the pics!).
For those of you unfamiliar, TV One showcases a “Hello Beautiful Interludes Live…” special with different artists each quarter. Last spring it was Jennifer and before her, Babyface, Toni Braxton, John Legend and Trey Songz were among those featured. TV One hasn’t yet released who’ll be the focus of its next “Interludes” show, but I can tell you one thing based on previous performances: it’ll be worth watching. Watch other videos from Jennifer’s “Interludes” below or here and read more about that night here. Great way to close out Black Music Month, right?
