While the world’s still trying to figure out what triggered Solange Knowles to go in on her brother-in-law, Jay Z, we’re reporting good news for ABC: Shonda Rhimes signed a four-year deal with ABC Studios and a new clip of the comedy “Black-ish” starring Anthony Anderson and Tracee Eliss Ross. Plus, there’s my watchlist and what’s hot (new fall shows slated) and not (Donald Sterling’s comments). Enjoy!

The Solange-Jay Z saga continues. It’s a day later and people are still buzzing about the TMZ-released surveillance video of what appears to be Solange Knowles attacking her brother-in-law, rap mogul Jay Z, in a hotel elevator at a Met gala afterparty. There’s no sound but the pictures (video) speak volumes. She kicked, punched, shouted, kicked, punched and spat repeatedly. Why would she go off like this? What did Jay Z say or do to her (and/or Beyonce–#WhatJaySaidToSolange was one of Twitter’s top hashtags)? Why was big sis Beyonce more concerned about her gown than breaking up the fight? No one in the video (Bey, Jay or Bey’s bodyguard Julius) seems overly surprised by little bit’s behavior which some speculate as a) the behavior is nothing new b) her actions were warranted or c) both a and b. It’s no secret that Solange is very protective of Beyonce but I don’t recall ever hearing anything about her going all “Jerry Springer” on anyone before this. Have you? Whatever happened, it seems to have been enough for the younger Knowles to reportedly delete photos (save one) of Beyonce from her Instagram account. It is worth noting that after the incident, Beyonce and Solange left together while Jay Z got into a separate car. The sisters reportedly flew on a private plane to ex-Destiny Child’s member Kelly Rowland’s supposedly private nuptials to Tim Witherspoon. On Monday, the Carters were seen courtside at the Brooklyn Nets game. Reasons behind the scuffle range from relating to Solange no longer being signed to Jay Z’s Roc Nation label to Mr. Carter saying he’s going to Rihanna’s afterparty without the Mrs. An explanation for the Solange’s attack supposedly tweeted by her Monday has been confirmed to be fake (y’all couldn’t tell from reading it?!). The real reasons for the brawl may never be revealed publicly. What we do know is that Solange isn’t one to be messed with and Jay Z showed incredible restraint. Watch the video below.

Shonda Rhimes inks four-year deal with ABC. With everything happening with the Knowles-Carters incident, I almost forgot about the rest of Black Hollywood. Shonda Rhimes will remain with ABC Studios through May 2018, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Last week, we reported that Shonda’s ABC series “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Scandal” were renewed for their 11th and fourth seasons, respectively. She’s set to release a new series, “How to Get Away with Murder,” starring Oscar-nominee Viola Davis for the 2014-15 season. It will air Thursdays at 10 p.m. EST following “Scandal,” which will get a new time at 9 p.m. EST. Go’on, Shonda!

“Black-ish” added to ABC lineup. Speaking of black folk and ABC … take a look at the alphabet network’s new comedy “Black-ish” starring Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross and Laurence Fishburne. It’s coming this fall. It looks cute and fun. It’s scheduled to air Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. EST, following ratings darling “Modern Family.” All three have starred in TV series before and hopefully this will work out for them. Though the clip is under a minute, check it out and let me know what you think? Is this show a keeper?

On my watchlist? What I’m tuning in to see and what I’ll catch up with XFINITY On Demand…
“Mad Men”: I totally missed last week’s episode (told ya my Sunday’s are full) and will catch tonight via online. It airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC. Watch it here.
“The Goldbergs”: I haven’t watched this since the first couple of episodes aired but the promos are tempting. It airs at Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC. Watch it here.

The Hot List: Who/What’s Hot, Not
HOT: Fox picking up Lee Daniel’s “Empire” (Congrats! I spoke with stars Taraji P. Henson and Malik Yoba about this project. Hopefully it won’t disappoint.).
NOT: People who have a double standard when it comes to women fighting men and/ or other women (This has nothing to do with the supposed the Sola-Jay Z fight, just something I’ve felt for a while.)

HOT: The slew of shows slated for the 2014-15 season starring people of color (Hey, there have been complaints that the small screen wasn’t representing. Hopefully these new shows will offer appropriate portrayals.).
NOT: The things that are coming out of L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling’s mouth (…).
