The GLAAD Media Awards never ceases to amaze me in how they celebrate the positive portrayals of LGBT persons in film, television, journalism but also how even though the message is always that more needs to be done, that doesn’t mean it’s not okay to have a good party, too.
From singer Kylie Minogue performing on a table top and getting the crowd to sing with her to a group of out and proud professional athletes to a heartfelt speech by a young boy (Marcel Neergaard) who is already standing up for himself for being gay, this past weekend’s awards were a success. [Check out my coverage of the awards ceremony including photos and video.]
Before the event kicked off, though, there’s always the red carpet and I was there to talk to the celebrities, athletes and more about what it means to them to be at the GLAAD Media Awards.
