Happy Hump Day! I have a few things for you to nibble on today, including Kerry Washington dishing on what we can expect from “Scandal’s” season three finale Thursday, who’ll be stopping by Maya Rudolph’s new variety show and why Whoopi Goldberg dropped 30 pounds. Plus, see my watchlist and what’s hot (and not). Enjoy!

Kerry Washington offers season three finale hints. Aww, it’s that time. One of the hottest shows on TV is concluding yet another season, leaving legions of fans searching for another Thursday night fix.  Before “Scandal” gladiators get their next drug, they’re still lapping up the remains of season three, which airs its finale at 10 p.m. EST tomorrow. I mean, so much happened in the last episode! From Papa Pope getting stabbed or shot (undetermined) by his wife, Mama Pope, to a deadly explosion potentially ending the lives of key players (also compliments of Mama Pope) and the fallout from those events and more, anything could happen in the finale. ANYTHING. To help viewers prepare, star Kerry Washington, who plays Olivia Pope, shared some insight on the finale with The Hollywood Reporter. Check out snippets of the Q&A below.

• On the season three finale: “It gets crazier and crazier in the most wonderful way. Even the writers were excited about it during the table read. [Showrunner] Shonda [Rhimes] kept saying, “It’s only Act 2! It’s only Act 3!” because we couldn’t believe how much story was being exploded in each act. It’s quite a ride.”

• On whether Olivia will have closure with either of her parents: “It’s so intense! It makes me laugh whenever I think of the intensity of that table scene. Can you imagine sitting at a table with your mother and father and they’ve pulled knives on each other?! It’s such a complicated relationship. Olivia is definitely fighting for some semblance of clarity and having her life be handled (laughs).”

• On the potential explosion that could take place at the senator’s funeral and its impact on the election: “The explosion has huge impact on the election, but I can’t say more than that. It’s a definite game-changer.”

Whew, Thursday night can’t come fast enough. Read the rest of Kerry’s interview here. Need to catch up? Watch previous episodes here and check out the penultimate season three episode below.

“The Maya Rudolph Show” is happening. Well, well, well, look at this! Comedic actress (and yes, she’s funny!) Maya Rudolph will be getting her own variety show that’ll debut on May 19 at 10 p.m. EST on NBC. The one-hour special is described as “a throwback to the classic variety show format and is serving as a pilot for a possible ongoing version,” according to Eonline.com. Guests will include “The Office” alum Craig Robinson, Kristen Bell, Fred Armisen and Andy Samberg. Janelle Monae (she wowed me with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra last year) will be its musical guest with Raphael Saadiq serving as bandleader. What?! Mmm, Raphael is very, very talented, underrated in my book, and I look forward to seeing what he does. I grew up watching reruns of “The Carol Burnett Show” and considered Carol Burnett to be one of my childhood inspirations. I believe she had the same effect on the multi-talented Maya–she’s a great vocalist, too–and hope that this latest attempt at a variety show (many have failed) will be a success. I think she was one of the highlights during her long stint on “Saturday Night Live” so I’m sure she’ll do fine. Read more here. Also, if you need a reminder as to how funny Maya is, watch “Bridesmaids,”which is available with XFINITY On Demand™ here.

Whoopi Goldberg sheds some weight. The 58-year-old Oscar winner dishes with “Good Morning America’s” Robin Roberts about her recent weight loss. Whoopi, who stopped smoking last year, says after seeing herself in her upcoming Lifetime movie “A Day Late and a Dollar Short” she knew things had to change. “Oh, My God! I looked like a football player,” she says about her image on screen. Good for her! Sure, she’s a lot heavier than she used to be (many people are) and it’s good that she saw something she wasn’t too cool with and changed it. Check out more below.

On my watchlist? What I’m tuning in to see and what I’ll catch up with XFINITY On Demand…
“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”: I used to watch this show and the others in this long-running franchise almost exclusively but in recent years, say the last four or so, I completely fell off. It airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST on NBC. Watch it here.
“Revolution”: I kind of fell off of this one, too. Are the lights even on, permanently? Goodness … It airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST. Watch it here.

The Hot List: Who/What’s Hot, Not
HOT: Marlon Wayans appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Tuesday (He made me smile and laugh.).
NOT: “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star Mimi Faust and her “boo” Nikko’s sex tape becoming available for purchase (Hey, do what you want, but many wonder if this was a smart move for a (youthful) 40-something mother).

HOT: The CartersBeyonce and Jay Z–possibly touring together (Some are over these two but many, many more are thrilled that this could go down.).
NOT: “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’s” life hanging in the balance (Word on the curb is that the only remaining spinoff of the “Law & Order” original could get axed after this year.).
