Here’s your roundup of the day’s hottest black entertainment news, including Tip “T.I.” Harris’ new film with Kevin Hart (what movie isn’t he in?!) and Will Ferrell, Oprah’s fall tour and a spoof of the OWN chief’s showdown with actress Lindsay Lohan (I’m lighting candles for this one and Chris Brown). Yep, get comfy and read up!
Tip ‘T.I.’ Harris joins “Get Hard” film. The rapper-actor, who’s currently guest-starring on Showtime’s “House of Lies,” gets cast in another streetwise role opposite Kevin Hart (this brotha is raking it in!) and Will Ferrell. “In the Gary Sanchez-produced pic, the self-professed King of the South will play Joaquin, Hart’s streetwise cousin who helps Hart prep Ferrell’s millionaire fraudster for prison,” Deadline.com reports. You may recall in “House of Lies,” T.I.’s character Lukas Frye, co-owners of hip-hop clothing line DollaHyde, couldn’t shake his street life ties. And in Starz’s “Boss,” he played Trey Rogers, a tough, politically-ambitious ex-gangbanger who I wouldn’t trust to throw out my trash. Though typecast (he did spend some time in jail on weapons charges), I liked T.I. in both roles as he’s a pretty descent actor and fun to watch. Read more about his latest effort here. The fourth season of his reality show “T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle” premieres Monday at 9 p.m. EST on VH-1. You can watch past episodes here. “House of Lies” airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EST. Check season 3 out here.
Oprah plans to spread her inspirational message. Not living your best life? Don’t worry, Oprah Winfrey’s got a solution for that! “Join me in a live, transformational 2-day wknd: @LifeYouWantTour coming to 8 cities this fall!,” the media maven shared on her Twitter page. The eight-city arena tour will feature Oprah and a team of special guests such as Iyanla Vanzant, star of OWN’s hit series “Iyanla: Fix My Life;” Elizabeth Gilbert, best-selling author of Eat Pray Love; Pastor Rob Bell, one of Time 100’s Most Influential people; and Deepak Chopra, world-renowned author and pioneer in mind-body medicine, according to an OWN press release. This event reminds me of the “O You!” events she held in 2011 in Atlanta and in Johannesburg, South Africa last year. Tickets go on sale April 7 and I’m sure many will flock to purchase. The tour will kick off in Atlanta in early September. I’ve included the schedule below. Read more details here. Will you be there?

Speaking of Lady O… Did you see her get in Lindsay Lohan’s butt on “Lindsay,” OWN’s reality series featuring the troubled star? Yeah, she dropped the f-bomb and told her to cut “the bull—-.” Well, while people are busy spoofing Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s Vogue cover, Sheryl Underwood, co-host of CBS’s “The Talk,” poked fun at the Oprah-Lindsay showdown. Check out the clip of Oprah and Lindsay below along with Sheryl’s spoof.
