Father Brown

Mark Williams (the Harry Potter films) stars as Father Brown, the Catholic priest who also happens to have a particular talent for solving crimes in this series inspired by the short stories of English writer GK Chesterton. Set in the 1950s in the heart of the beautiful English countryside, each episode sees the enigmatic priest investigate a crime in his own particular way – but he is more interested in saving souls than in bringing the guilty to justice. Having spent many years hearing his parishioners’ confessions, Father Brown has an almost uncanny insight into the origins of evil and the workings of the criminal mind. Join the Father and his good-hearted helpers as they save an innocent woman from the gallows, foil a jewel thief, catch a poisoner and more. Full of humor and compassion, but with a big dramatic twist each time, this series remains true to the period charm of the original character and setting while bringing a contemporary edge to the storytelling. Bonus materials include a Behind-the-Scenes featurette and cast and crew interviews. Buy the Season 1 DVD right here.
