During the London Olympic Games, as part of the TV Everywhere Experience Comcast introduced in July 2013, Xfinity offered customers more ways to watch and enjoy the games than ever before. As a result, it now stands as the most-watched event in television history.
The 2014 Sochi Olympic Games will be a continuation of Comcast’s innovative Every Minute. Every Medal. Every Screen. approach and we’ve gone to great lengths to ensure that we’re delivering the greatest value and most comprehensive and incredible entertainment options today than ever in the history of TV and are continuing to deliver technology and tools to help make these options significantly more accessible to all of our customers.
Already one of the most anticipated events among sports fans all over the world, these Olympic Games promise to be extra especial for our Latino customers who for the first time ever will be able to experience one of our newest innovations, Home Pass. As an Xfinity TV and Internet customer, upon accessing the Xfinity.com/TV website from within their home, they will now be automatically authenticated and logged in; this means they will no longer need to sign in with a user name and password to access TV Everywhere content. It will give them immediate access to the massive library of more than 285,000 video choices available through our site, which is home to both On Demand and Live streaming TV content.
The Sochi Olympics feature the largest ever participation of athletes from a total of ten (10) Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries including Argentina with seven athletes, Chile (7), Peru (3), Venezuela (1), Mexico (1), Paraguay (1), and Puerto Rico (1). Spain, Brazil and Portugal are represented by a total of 33 Olympic hopefuls.
While for many of the Latin American athletes Sochi marks their first trip to the Olympics, Mexico’s slalom skier Hubertus von Hohenlohe, who on February 2 turned 55, will be making his sixth (6th) appearance at the Games.
The U.S. Olympic team includes speed skater Miami native Eddie “The Jet” Alvarez, the first Cuban-American male athlete to compete in the Winter Games; Alvarez will compete in four events.
We invite all of our Latino customers to share in the celebration. Enjoy the Games.
