It’s Thursday and I am so excited about the premiere of “Rake” at 9pm on FOX. Based on an Australian series with the same name, the dramedy tells the story of a criminal defense lawyer who has plenty of vices including large gambling debts and a penchant for prostitutes. In his television series debut, actor Greg Kinnear (“As Good As It Gets“) leads the show in the role of Keegan Deane and John Ortiz (“American Gangster“) as his forgiving best friend Ben Leon.

In the premiere episode entitled, “Serial Killer”, Deane’s personal shortcomings get him in one professional pickle after another which begins with a serial killer’s confession that may or may not be the work of the Los Angeles police chief. Meanwhile, a client remunerates Keegan with an expensive fish, but he needs to collect the money from a sushi restaurant so he can pay his bookie part of his gambling debt.

If you missed my exclusive interview with Mr. Ortiz, make sure to check it out via this link ASAP.

NUVOtv will air back-to-back episodes of “Dexter” starting at 10pm. In episodes 3 and 4 of season one, you will learn that the Ice Truck Killer has struck again and new homicide detective Debra Morgan (Jennifer Carpenter) is assigned the case. It’s not long before she is reprimanded for violating the chain of command. For those of you new to this series, expect a lot of this, and four letter words, from Ms. Morgan!

Patterns connecting Dexter (Michael C Hall) and the locations of dismembered body parts being left by the Ice Truck Killer are too much to ignore. It doesn’t sound like this situation is going to end too well!

Don’t forget to set your DVR to record the return of the CW’s series “Reign” at 9pm. In episode 9 entitled, “For King and Country” Mary (Adelaide Kane) and Bash (Torrance Coombs) return to the castle after leaving together in the winter finale. Back at the cast, Queen Catherine (Megan Follows) remains resolved to keep Francis (Toby Regbo) from marrying Mary no matter the cost. Will Francis finally give up on the alliance when he finds out about the dark prophecy?
