ABC News “20/20″ co-anchor Elizabeth Vargas is officially out of rehab.
Vargas broke the news to her followers on Twitter, writing, “Hello everyone! I am home, and so grateful for all your support and well wishes. I am so much better and taking it one day at a time. :)”
Vargas last appeared on ABC in October.
“Like so many people, I am dealing with addiction,” Vargas said when the news broke. “I realized I was becoming increasingly dependent on alcohol.”
ABC executives stated that said they were proud of Vargas’ effort to get help and were rooting for her recovery.
“Elizabeth is a member of our family and we will support her in every way we can,” said ABC News spokesman Jeffrey Schneider told the AP.
Vargas did not say, however, when she would be back on the air.
