La Reina del Sur” made its way around the world into 86 countries and has been translated into 17 languages. Starting on Monday, November 11th at 9pm, the novela that changed the game returns for an encore performance on Telemundo. Reaching 16.6 million viewers during its first run, the story featuring the extraordinary life of Teresa Mendoza is ready to hypnotize new viewers and reach existing fans who couldn’t get enough.

Kate del Castillo (Weeds, Grimm) brought to life the protagonist, a 23-year-old woman from Mexico who rises up to become the most powerful drug trafficker in Spain. “La Reina del Sur,” which became the most expensive novela ever produced by Telemundo, also stars Rafael Amaya, Iván Sánchez, Humberto Zurita, and Cristina Urgel.

Recently, del Castillo was honored alongside activist Marian González del Castillo at the “25 Most Powerful Latinas” luncheon in Miami by People En Español for their work bringing awareness and aiding victims of human trafficking and sex slavery.
