John Leguizamo is headed back in time as the newest member of Fox’s “Walking with Dinosaurs.” According to a report from Deadline.com, Leguizamo will bring to life Alex, a fast-flying and friendly Alexornis bird in the 3D animated film based on the live touring show and BBC miniseries of the same name. Alex will serve as narrator of the tale about three Pachyrhinosauruses Patchi, Scowler (Skyler Stone), and Juniper (Tiya Sircar) who grow from infants into adulthood during the prehistoric period Late Cretaceous.
It was also announced that actor Justin Long will lend his voice to Patchi, leader of the herd who is Alex’s unlikely friend and ally. Patchi, the curious and optimistic underdog, uses his head and his heart to do the right thing.
Neither Leguizamo nor Long are strangers to working on animated films. John is known for his work on all four “Ice Age” films, “Rio,” and “Titan A.E.” and Justin as the voice of Alvin in the “Alvin and the Chipmunk” films.
To see what it was like when dinosaurs ruled the Earth, you don’t have to wait long. “Walking with Dinosaurs” hits theaters on December 20th, 2013.
