This Sunday marks the start of a hurricane brewing down South as “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” returns to Bravo (8/7c).
No peach is left unturned or, as Kenya Moore would put it, no peach is left untwirled.
Every single “housewife” deals with major personal change and drama, and at various times, the pressure becomes ridiculously overwhelming.
Here’s what the cast is up against as Season 6 gets under way:
NeNe: The stress of juggling her burgeoning acting career, preparing for a 400-guest wedding, and keeping Kenya in check makes her just about permanently cross-eyed. A NeNe/Kenya showdown is way overdue, though, wouldn’t you say?
Kenya: Despite her claims of being a mega-international film producer, Kenya is threatened with eviction from her home. (Guess that “Stallion Booty” exercise DVD didn’t do so well after all.)
Kandi: Her wedding plans — to fiance Todd — become a source of tension, especially now that Mama Joyce is starting to believe that her future son-in-law is an opportunist. Sign the prenup, Todd! Although usually the cool-tempered one, Kandi shockingly assaults several people in the ensuing weeks. The reasons aren’t clear, but it’s worth watching to figure it out.
Porsha: She’s getting divorced from her controlling, domineering husband, former NFLer Kordell Stewart, who apparently can’t explain why he wants to cut matrimonial ties.
Cynthia: Poor Cynthia and hubby Peter just can’t catch a break. If it’s not their relationship on the line, then it’s their business. And now one is affecting the other. Looks like Peter’s Bar One venture is another business gone down the toilet — and it might even go into foreclosure. Tears, fears, and pride spilleth over in this hardworking couple’s lives. Let’s just hope Cynthia’s sister (aka Peter Hater) doesn’t suddenly appear and tell Cynthia, “I told you so.”
Phaedra: Wahhh! The Queen of Donkey Booty has given birth to an adorable Mini Donkey Booty No. 2, and with that, she begins to change things up in the household. Unfortunately, the King of Donkey Booty, Apollo, isn’t happy with the changes, and it just so happens that Kenya’s alleged sexting comes back to haunt them.
