Not only are we celebrating the arrival of Friday, but I’m sure many of you are also nursing a sugar hangover from all the trick-or-treating you did last night for Halloween. With the weekend ahead, you have nothing to worry about except trying to stay awake until quitting time. That’s no big deal though right chicas y chicos? Just pop some candy corn and some mini chocolate bars from your desk and you’ll be fine.

Once you’re home and ready to relax, kick back in front of the TV for a laid back Friday night. I’m starting off my night by tuning into the CW for an all new episode of “The Carrie Diaries” at 8pm. Last week for the season 2 premiere, we met up with Carrie (AnnaSophia Robb) who is bunking with her best mate Walt (Brendan Dooling) in New York City while interning at Interview Magazine for the summer. She gets an unexpected visit from ex-love Sebastian (Austin Butler) and while trying to avoid him and her nemesis Donna (Chloe Bridges), Carrie ends up learning another lesson in loving and letting go. We also finally got to meet Samantha (Lindsey Gort), who we know ends up being a huge part of Carrie’s life. Tonight, we will see how Carrie and Walt cope with having a new roommate and discover what hot topic Samantha and Mouse (Ellen Wong) “bond” over.

After a full hour of young love, I’ll be ready for something a little more dark. So at 9pm I will be checking in with NBC for episode 2 of “Grimm” entitled, “PTZD.” During the series 2 premiere last Friday, Nick (David Giuntoli) was captured by Eric Renard (James Frain) and put on a plane that was en route to Vienna. The Grimm manages to bring down the plane and escaping. Meanwhile in Portland, Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell), Rosalee (Bree Turner) and Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) battled a hungry zombie army. Tonight, all three go on a search to save Nick from an uncertain fate while Captain Renard (Sasha Roiz) tries to clean up the mess left behind by the zombie attack.

Dracula” enjoyed a strong premiere of its freshman season last week in the U.S. and this week in the U.K. I think a lot of people were expecting Jonathan Rhys Meyers to portray more of a “Twilight” inspired sparkly vampire, but his role is surprisingly quite dark. NBC, who has long been known for successful comedy shows has really pushed the envelope with dramas as of late with “Hannibal,” “The Blacklist,” and now “Dracula.”

To catch you up, Dracula has returned to England in the disguise of American entrepreneur Alexander Grayson (Meyers) in the late 19th century. The undercover vampire throws a lavish party at his sprawling mansion where he catches the eye of a beautiful brunette named Mina (Jessica De Gouw), who looks identical to his deceased wife Ilona. Later at the opera, Grayson becomes intimately acquainted with Lady Jane (Victoria Smurfit) who has a connection with The Order of the Dragon— tasked to kill all vampires. Watch for great performances by “Merlin” star Katie McGrath in the role of Lucy Westerna, Mina’s best friend and “Hannibal” star Thomas Kretschmann who plays Van Helsing.
