Grant Imahara and Tory Belleci, stars of the popular show “Mythbusters,” were at Los Angeles International Airport Friday when a gunman opened fire. The pair are now in a safe location.

The Science Channel and the Discovery Channel issued a statement Friday afternoon:

“Mythbusters” Grant Imahara and Tory Belleci were present in Terminal 3 at Los Angeles International Airport at the time of today’s shooting incident. Both were en route to Delaware for the filming of ‘Punkin Chunkin’. Grant and Tory are safe and being rerouted. Our thoughts are with all those affected by today’s tragedy and our gratitude goes out to the members of the LAPD, Airport Police, TSA, and Virgin America staff for restoring safety to the scene.”

The TV stars Tweeted about the frightening incident as it happened, describing the chaotic scene:

“Heard gun shots then everyone starting running for the door. Not sure if anyone was hurt,” Belleci wrote. “I was in the Virgin lounge upstairs. Saw everyone pour out of the terminal onto the tarmac. Then I heard shots fired outside.”

“Holy s***!!! How the hell did guns get passed security? Outside now,” he also wrote.

After people were evacuated from the terminal, he added:

“Almost 4 hrs since the shooting. Still here. 2000+ people. They’re handing out waters & snacks. #LAXShooting”
