It got ugly in a battle of “Apprentice” vets.
Omarosa Manigault made a stop on “Bethenny” for a conversation with mogul and talk show hostess Bethenny Frankel, who starred in the Martha Stewart version of the show. Apparently, there was heat between the two before Omarosa even walked on the stage.
It seems that the reality villainess was unhappy over some comments Bethenny made on “The View,” noting that compared to Omarosa, she had “a real career.”
“I thought we were friends and it really hurt my feelings,” Omarosa said.
“First of all, we knew each other from ‘The Apprentice,’ we had never had dinner, we weren’t friends,” Bethenny retorted.
“I thought we were friends,” Omarosa continued. “When you were on Martha Stewart’s ‘Apprentice,’ you contacted me, maybe reaching out, maybe you were just trying to use me to get information—and you can call that what you want…To go on The View and badmouth me to my friend [Sherri Shepherd], that’s bad form, Bethenny.”
The talk show host doubted she uttered those words, proclaiming that she would give Omarosa $10,000 is she actually said them. It turns out, however, that she did. A producer handed Bethenny a smart phone that laid out her segment on “The View,” and a surprised Bethenny admitted she owed Omarosa the money.
“It’s different for you and I,” Omarosa said after the reveal. “I am an African-American woman. You get to walk around and be mediocre and you still get rewarded with things. We have to be exceptional to get anything in this business.”
That didn’t end the standoff between the two, however.
Bethenny went on to tell Omarosa that “I don’t think you have a brand.”
“You make cupcakes, I worked in the White House,” Omarosa shot back, before adding, “I am a smart businesswoman who celebrates being smart and there is a brand in being smart.”
“Your brand is smart?” Frankel wondered. “That’s in your business plan?”
“Absolutely,” Omarosa said. “I have an accomplished career. I teach young people.”
