“The Price is Right” will salute Bob Barker on his 90th birthday.

The dapper former host, who starred on the CBS mid-morning game show for an astonishing 35 years, will return to the show on an undisclosed date to tape an appearance for a show that will air on his birthday, Dec. 12.

Barker’s return visit will be only his second visit back to the show’s studio in Hollywood (a facility that happens to be named for him) since he relinquished the reins in 2007 to new host Drew Carey.

Barker last visited his old show in 2009 to promote his autobiography, “Priceless Memories.”

“We’ve had Bob on just one other time since Drew Carey took over the show,” executive producer Mike Richards told TVGuide.com. “It was when Bob’s book, ‘Priceless Memories,’ came out and it was a priceless moment for fans. I was looking for the perfect reason to bring Bob back again and this TV legend turning 90 is the perfect reason.”

Richards told TV Guide that the show’s tribute to Barker on his 90th birthday will be a feature of the show for a full week — Dec. 9-13 — with Barker appearing on Thursday of that week.

“Monday through Friday we’re going to be doing pet adoptions, which is something Bob did on the show for years,” Richards is quoted as saying. The producer said Barker will “help place a pup up for adoption” when he appears on the show, and he’ll “take part in a special Showcase presentation featuring prizes that honor the benefits of reaching 90.”

With Barker seeming to be in fine health for a 90-year-old, the “Price is Right” producer is already looking forward to marking future milestones with the legendary former host. “I’m officially extending an invitation to Bob to come back for his 100th birthday!” Richards said.
