McCartney, Fallon Swap Accents in Viral ‘Late Night’ Video: Watch

Rock legend Paul McCartney bumped into Jimmy Fallon in a hallway backstage at NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” and afterwards, the two had mysteriously switched accents.

The comic collision had apparently caused the British-born Beatle to suddenly adopt an American accent (or at least he tried to), while Fallon, a New York native, suddenly sounded like a Beatle.

The result was yet another Fallon comedy bit that went viral Tuesday, the day after it aired Monday night on “Late Night.” Watch it, above.

Sir Paul’s participation in a Fallon comedy bit was only a small part of the legendary Beatle’s visit to “Late Night.” He performed the Beatles classic “Lady Madonna,” plus two new songs from his new CD titled “New.”

McCartney, 71, also sat down with Fallon, who asked the legendary Beatle about his relationship over the years with members of the Rolling Stones. And McCartney told about how he spent a week not long ago with Keith Richards in the Caribbean.
