The opening-title sequence designed by producer/director Guillermo del Toro for the “Simpsons” 24th annual Halloween special was chock full of dozens (if not hundreds) of references to past horror films and horror personalities, including marauding zombies, legendary movie monsters, a cameo appearance by Alfred Hitchcock and many, many more.

The sequence opened “Treehouse of Horror XXIV,” the “Simpsons” traditional, annual Halloween special, which aired Sunday night on Fox — a few weeks earlier than usual.

Del Toro is best-known as the director of the “Hellboy” movies plus other films such as “Pan’s Labyrinth.”

The opening he created for “The Simpsons” was so rich in detail, you might want to watch it again and again. Watch it as many times as you like, above.
