The net has renewed the baking competition, a spinoff of its hit “Cake Boss,” for a fourth season. The first of 10 episodes will air in 2014. Meanwhile, season seven of “Cake Boss” premieres on Jan. 20.
The reality show, hosted by Buddy Valastro, pits pastry chefs against one other in a series of cake-making and decorating challenges. A contestant is eliminated each week, and the last baker standing wins $100,000, among other prizes. This season introduces a sweet new twist: Participants will compete for the title in teams of two.
A nationwide casting search for the 10 pairs of competitors began on Friday.
The reality series, produced by High Noon Entertainment, averaged 1.3 million viewers last season.
