“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” is losing its matriarch.
Caroline Manzo, an original cast member of the Bravo show, is not returning for a sixth season of the series, according to E! News.
“Caroline leaving is a natural progression,” a source told the site. “As to the reason why, it will become clearer to viewers in the season finale and the reunion episodes why this was the right decision at the right time for her.”
That doesn’t necessarily mean we won’t see more from Manzo, however. Bravo has already filmed a spinoff pilot dubbed “Manzo’d With Children,” that will follow Caroline and her family. A synopsis of the show reads that she will attempt “to be the ring leader of the crazy, Italian circus around her” with “one crowded house filled with personality, laughter and ham.”
The season-five finale of “Real Housewives of New Jersey” will air this Sunday on Bravo.
