Bravo’s going meta with its new TV show about TV shows starring regular people watching TV shows.
The cable channel has ordered “People’s Couch,” a half-hour limited series airing Sunday, Oct. 6, Oct. 13 and Oct. 20 at 11:30/10:30c, a Bravo representative told TheWrap.
“‘The People’s Couch’ is a funny, unfiltered comment on America’s current TV viewing habits,” said Bravo’s vice president of development, Lara Spotts, in a statement.
“Continuing Bravo’s tradition of serving up pop culture in fresh, new ways, this series taps into everyone’s desire to know what others think about the shows they are watching.”
The three-episode series features “real people” watching and weighing in on today’s most popular shows and news stories from the past week. Based on the successful UK series, Channel 4′s “Gogglebox,” each episode will star the same groups of people ranging from sorority girls to grandparents with their grandkids — all supplying their unique take on popular TV and news.
