These boots were apparently not made for walking. Carrie Underwood suffered a nasty fall on Thursday, Sept. 5, in the middle of performing “Undo It” at a concert in Corpus Christi, Tex.
The “American Idol” alum was stomping her foot and singing when the back of her 5-inch stiletto got caught in the train of her long, flowy shirt and sent her crashing straight to the floor. Ever the professional, she kept singing from a sitting position, almost without missing a beat.

After the show, the six-time Grammy winner took to Twitter to acknowledge the incident. “Hey, remember that time in Corpus Christi when that girl busted her butt on stage?! Hilarious! Oh wait, that was me!” she joked good-naturedly, along with the hashtags “#5inchheels” and “#klutz.”
Later, she added: “I can’t move my toes. Is that bad?”
Fortunately for her (and her fans), the injury doesn’t appear to be too serious — but it did require some rather cumbersome bandaging. “Good news, it’s not broken…AND I got some new footwear!” she announced later that night, along with a picture of her left leg encased in a giant black brace.
The 30-year-old songstress didn’t specify the nature of her injury, but her sense of humor, at least, is still very much in tact. She even retweeted a link to a fan’s video of the incident, along with a few funny responses. “Carrie Underwood didn’t fall tonight. She attacked the floor…While wearing five inch heels,” one fan wrote. “She’s got mad ninja skills.”
She also responded to fellow country star Brad Paisley’s joke about the tumble. (Paisley tweeted a link to the same fan video, writing: “The graceful, the nimble, the cat-like reflexes of Carrie Underwood.”)
“I learn from the best!” she quipped, linking to a YouTube clip of the “American Saturday Night” singer taking a spill mid-concert. When he teased back, “At least I wasn’t drunk,” she wrote, “You know I don’t drink on stage! I’m uncoordinated enough as it is!”
