What’s in a trailer?
That’s open to interpretation when you watch this one-minute promotional trailer for the fourth season of “Downton Abbey.”
The trailer began making the rounds this weekend, and it’s getting picked up all over the place from — where else? — YouTube.
Like many another trailer, this one is a collection of clips edited together to tease you, of course — and leave you wanting more.
It will also leave you asking questions that have no answers — mainly, what is the meaning of all the various character pairings in the blink-and-you’ll-miss-them snippets?
And you’ll also notice: A number of the snippets have characters you won’t recognize — the various newbies who are apparently joining the show this season.
The trailer is out now because “Downton” is fast approaching its season-premiere date this fall in the U.K. Here in the U.S., we’ll have to wait ’til winter to see it on PBS.
