Give this girl her own talk show!
Watching Lindsay Lohan guest-host “Chelsea Lately” might have had you wondering if Lindsay had hosted late-night shows for half her life. That’s how comfortable she seemed in the role of substitute for Chelsea Handler, who was off doing who-knows-what.
Fun-loving Lindsay joked about Chelsea’s whereabouts in the opening of the show Monday night on E!. Yes, Lindsay Lohan delivered a late-night monologue, and she did it like a real pro too.
“Hi, I’m Lindsay Lohan,” she said, smiling, as the studio audience applauded. “Chelsea’s not here and I actually don’t know where she is. But I did see someone who looks a lot like her moving into my old room at Cliffside! So, good luck, Chelsea!”
Cliffside is the name of the rehabilitation facility in Malibu where Lohan, 27, just spent a court-ordered, 90-day stint. She got out last Wednesday, and taped “Chelsea Lately” late last week.
“As you all know,” Lindsay said, “for the past 90 days, I’ve been on a lovely court-ordered vacation in Malibu. No, but on a real note, it was really great and wonderful. I’ve been through a lot lately and I have a lot of people to thank for that — most notably, the celebrities who kept the tabloid industry alive in my absence!”
She then welcomed a handful of celebrity lookalikes — “Kanye West,” “Anthony Weiner” and “Justin Bieber” (who pushed a mop and bucket) — who she “thanked” individually.
“I’m back. I’m happy and healthy, and I’m sorry paparazzi, but if you want to take pictures of someone who’s really f—-d up, you’ll have to wait ’til Chelsea’s back!” Lohan said, concluding her monologue.
In the next segment, Lindsay led a jokey discussion with a panel of “Chelsea Lately” regulars (Jen Kirkman, Fortune Feimster and Brad Wollack) about celebrities in the news, including Harry Styles, Kristen Stewart and Justin Bieber.
She then interviewed the evening’s sole guest — actor Dylan Bruce from the BBC America series “Orphan Black.”
