There’s a reason they call these short promo spots “teasers.”
Take the 15-second promo Oprah Winfrey has just released as she begins to promote her upcoming interview with Lindsay Lohan. The interview must have been conducted within days of Lohan completing her latest stint in court-ordered rehab.
Her 90-day hitch ended last Wednesday. And now, Monday, there’s a promo spot out from Oprah’s OWN that shows her in conversation with Winfrey — which means this interview was conducted some time in the last few days.
In the spot, Oprah and Lohan are seen seated in chairs opposite each other in a modern, tastefully furnished apartment or hotel suite with what looks to be a view of the Hudson River and New Jersey outside the window — which means the interview was conducted in New York.
Lohan is wearing an orange knit dress (which reminded us of some of the orange jail-wear we’ve seen her wearing in some of her famous mugshots). She says nothing in the brief spot, but we are treated to two of the questions Oprah asked her. No. 1: “Are you an addict?” And No. 2: “What does it feel like to be both an adjective and a verb for child star gone wrong?”
Lohan’s answers were not provided, of course — which is why they call these things “teasers” because they’re supposed to “tease” you into tuning in to see what Lindsay says. Toward that end, the one thing we did learn from the promo spot: This interview will air Sunday, Aug. 18, on “Oprah’s Next Chapter” (9/8c on OWN).
Can’t wait that long to see the post-rehab Lindsay? Then tune in Monday night to “Chelsea Lately” on E! where LiLo will be seen guest-hosting for Chelsea Handler (11/10c).
