Dan Aykroyd Makes ‘Blues Brothers’ Entrance on ‘Fallon’: Watch

Dan Aykroyd came on stage costumed as Blues brother Elwood Blues, and blowing a mean harmonica on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” Tuesday night.

It was a creative entrance for Aykroyd, 61, who sang “Born in Chicago” (though he was born in Ottawa) with back-up support from The Roots. Aykroyd has been performing as Elwood Blues since the 1970s — premiering the act for the first time before a national audience with his friend, the late John Belushi, on “Saturday Night Live” in 1978. Of course, that inaugural performance took place in the very same building where he performed last night.

Watch the clip above to see Aykroyd performing as a solo Blues brother. Just as spectacular: Fallon’s exuberant, over-the-top introduction.
