There’s been a lot of heartbreak on “Downton Abbey” but a new love affair is on its way for one of the “Abbey’s” brokenhearted.

Daisy Lewis is joining the cast for Season 4, according to The Daily Mail, as the new love interest for the late Lady Sybil’s husband Tom Branson (Allen Leech).

She’ll play a live-in nanny for the baby that Lady Sybil died while giving birth to. Soon, she’ll be consoling Branson, who was devastated by his wife’s death.

“Daisy will become one of Downton’s most prominent characters. She wowed producers in her audition and they are delighted to have secured such a brilliant young actress,” a source told The Daily Mirror. “Her romance with Tom will be one of the main storylines of the series,” the source added. “He will begin to develop feelings for her and they start a secret affair.”

Lewis, 28, has previously appeared on the BBC’s “Doctor Who” and in the feature film “Pusher.”

As previously announced, the upcoming season of “Downton Abbey” will also feature other cast additions, including Paul Giamatti as Lady Cora’s brother Harold and Gary Carr as a jazz singer.
