A familiar face is coming to NBC’s weight-loss competition as an “Idol” goes from belting it out to sweating it out on national TV.

Former “American Idol” winner Ruben Studdard could be the next “Biggest Loser.”

Studdard will appear on the 15th edition of “The Biggest Loser,” which returns to NBC this fall, where he’ll be among the dozen contestants competing to drop the most amount of weight.

Studdard, who was known as the “Velvet Teddy Bear” when he won season 2 of the Fox singing competition in 2003, has had an ongoing struggle with his battle with obesity.

Back in 2006 — when he was weighing in at 455 lbs. — Studdard did lose 70 lbs. through a combination of exercise and adopting a vegetarian diet.

But some highs and lows in his personal life — his 2008 marriage to Surata Zuri McCants ended in divorce four years later — didn’t help Studdard’s waistline. The Grammy-nominee admits stress-eating has contributed to his putting weight back on since the couple’s 2012 divorce.

Now he wants to put his health first.

“I’ve never had an issue with my weight,” Studdard, 34, has said, according to People. “[But] my family has a history of high blood pressure, diabetes, heart-related issues – things I didn’t have to deal with yet because I’m young. But I don’t want to be worried at 40, and if I don’t fix things now, I will be.”
