“MythBusters” is having a do over.
Discovery’s long-running series will reexamine one of the show’s experiments that took place in 2007 with the case of the “Bifurcated Boat.”
Fans have been demanding a recount ever since the series examined the claims of a man who said he crashed a speedboat into a channel marker and supposedly split the boat in two. The man states that he was going only 25 MPH. The series subsequently debunked the story after using a model boat at that speed that hit a marker with little damage.
However, viewers complained for years about the bust, pointing out issues that included that fact that the show didn’t even test the theory in water. So now that the show is in its 10th season, the Discovery series will revisit the experiment.
“Our results were less than spectacular,” Grant Imahara states in the clip. “But according to you fans, that’s because our methodology was totally wrong!”
“Because we didn’t do it on water!” Kari Byron adds.
“MythBusters” airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on Discovery.
In the meantime, here’s the clip, presented to “Today,” that details what will be different in round two.
