Jimmy Fallon took a break from desk work Tuesday to relax with a midday, lung-clearing yodel over the rooftops of New York City.
But to his surprise, another celebrity was doing the same thing from atop another landmark skyscraper — Brad Pitt. So the two “performed” a yodeling duet that had the Manhattan skyline echoing with the signature sound of the Swiss Alps.
The “duet” made for a sublime piece of video, which was seen Tuesday night on NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” — and which we have for you to watch, above.
The two were lip-synching their yodels, of course, but they did it very convincingly as they “communicated” with each other via this ancient Alpine medium. Fallon stood on the roof of 30 Rockfeller Center, headquarters of NBC, while Pitt was positioned on the rooftop of another midtown icon, the MetLife building, just a few blocks east (and slightly south) of 30 Rock. The building, known to generations of New Yorkers by its former name, Pan Am, once had a helicopter landing pad on the roof — which was where Pitt stood to exchange “yodels” with Fallon.
If you watch the video, above, you’ll see the Art Deco spire of the landmark Chrysler building visible behind Pitt. Don’t miss this video.
