Ah, what could have been…

Actor John Stamos, who played Uncle Jessie in “Full House,” admitted that his on-screen wife and costar Lori Loughlin may be the “one who got away.”

In an interview with HuffPost Live, Stamos said that he and Loughlin went on one date, but fate wasn’t on their side.

“[We] went on a date to Disneyland before, you know, before we were both married,” he said in the interview. “In real life, when we were 18, 19-years-old,” he said. “We did have some off timing, but no disrespect to her family and her husband now, I would say that she could be the one that got away.”

Loughlin seems to agree with those sentiments. In an earlier interview, she admitted that the two of them had strong chemistry. “We were great friends…and we have chemistry. I was actually married at the time I was doing the show and then I got divorced, and when I got divorced he met Rebecca [Romijn] and he got married,” she said in an interview. “So our timing was just really off so I don’t think it really even entered our minds that it would be something more.”

As for Stamos, he says that friendship is more than enough.

“She’s one of my dearest friends, and that’s good enough,” he said.
