Khloe Kardashian tried hard to explain her parents’ living situation, but also indicated she does not approve.
What’s the situation? As revealed this past Sunday on the season premiere of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” on E!, Khloe’s mom, Kris Jenner, and stepfather Bruce Jenner, are living apart in separate houses — at least part-time.
So Jay Leno wanted to know more about this arrangement when Khloe appeared on “The Tonight Show” on NBC Wednesday night.
“According to the tabloids, your mom and Bruce Jenner are having problems. They’re living apart,” Leno said to Khloe. “Is that true? Are they living apart?”
“Well,” insisted Khloe, “they’re not having problems, but they still like to live apart, which is definitely different.”
As the conversation proceeded, Khloe seemed to try hard to reconcile the idea that two people living apart in separate houses are not having marital problems. “Bruce and my mom … they got another house,” Khloe said, “and Bruce stays there sometimes.”
Khloe, 28 — the youngest of the three Kardashian sisters — tried not to judge Kris and Bruce specifically, but she did reveal her own opinion of this living arrangement: “I’m not for that,” admitted Khloe, who’s married to NBA star Lamar Odom.
“It’s in the same state — different city,” Khloe said of this second home. “I’m not for that,” she repeated, “but, you know, to each their own. I don’t compare relationships. I just think a little too much time apart maybe isn’t the best thing.”
“Do you think they’ll get back together soon or is that a permanent thing?” Leno asked.
“No, they say this is their … [They say] ‘Don’t judge us, we’ve been married 24 years’,” Khloe said. “I’m like, I know people who have been married longer who still live together.”
“So why does he need a whole house?” Leno asked.
“I have no idea and I don’t think I wanna know,” Khloe said.
