After reports that all four judges seats are in play for next season’s “American Idol,” some familiar faces could now be in line to take over the show.

How does a panel that consists of Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson and Adam Lambert sound? That could happen, according to a report from Vulture, that “Idol” is considering using former contestants as the new judges on the show.

According to the report, Hudson and Clarkson have already been approached about the idea, with Lambert and Clay Aiken also being considered. Our guess is that Carrie Underwood’s schedule was full.

This year’s edition of “Idol” saw sharp ratings declines, with Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson at the judge’s table. While Fox has not stated that all four judges will be replaced, reports state that the network is looking to wipe the slate clean.
