Just minutes after Kellie Pickler and partner Derek Hough hoisted the “Dancing with the Stars” mirror ball trophy above their golden heads, the country singer’s husband, Kyle Jacobs, couldn’t hold back his emotion.

“I am absolutely blown out of my mind,” the songwriter told reporters about her win on the physically demanding reality show. “For a girl who has never danced in her life to win Dancing with the Stars is absolutely phenomenal. And as her husband, I couldn’t be more proud.”

Kyle, who sang along to one of Kellie’s dances earlier in the season, revealed, “I have seen her feet. It looks like she’s walked over hot coals. She’s really put in a lot of hard work. I fully believed she deserved [to win]. I really do!”

In a touching moment on Monday night’s show, Kyle was shown teary-eyed in the audience after Kellie performed her stunning freestyle with Derek. And as Xfinity TV has previously reported, Kyle gifted Kellie with a Maltese puppy she had been wanting right after that dance.

Backstage on Tuesday, Kyle revealed that although the dog’s name isn’t yet official, they are thinking of naming the Maltese after one of Kellie’s dances—“Tango!”

Kyle revealed Kellie will continue to dance—but this time, he will be her partner instead of Derek. “I’m going to have to man up and definitely take dance classes. We’re going to take them together, actually. I think that would be the appropriate thing to do,” he told reporters.

But first, the couple, who tied the knot in a romantic Caribbean beach wedding two years ago, are taking a vacation after Kellie’s DWTS media tour is over. “We definitely have a getaway planned, and I can’t wait,” he said. “We haven’t been able to spend much time together for about two and a half months.”
