“Dancing with the Stars” doesn’t feel like a cliffhanger to soap opera hunk Ingo Rademacher – he thinks his time is up on the ABC reality show after his samba went south on Monday night.
With partner and fellow Aussie Kym Johnson by his side, Ingo admitted to reporters after the show, “We’re not going to be upset if we leave tomorrow — we’re going to be super surprised if we [do] make it into the finals.”
Then Kym revealed, “Ingo said we’ll be doing the upsetting if we get through.”
“Somebody will be very upset — not us,” Ingo smiled of a possible Tuesday night results-show upset. “You never know what can happen!”
But it was a hard night for the “General Hospital” star, 42, who got the lowest cumulative score. He earned a 24 for his samba, then a 27 for his Charleston with Kym. The total of 51 out of 60 didn’t look likely to give Ingo a spot in the “DWTS” finale, which will feature four couples this season.
Ingo told xfinityTV that he wished he had a different dance besides the samba, which didn’t suit his style. “I think if we’d have a really nice ballroom number,” he sighed. “A dance with cool lines, big beautiful lines–that’s from martial arts and yoga. I feel like more of a dancer when I’m doing that kind of a dance. The samba was definitely difficult for me; the fact that we got 8s [for it] was wonderful. The Charleston was the most entertaining fun dance we’d done; it wasn’t the best technically.”
Kym concluded, “It was a great night; we came into this having a lot of fun. Our goal was to make the semifinals, which we did. So we just decided to have fun this week; rehearsals were great. We gave it everything we had.”
Now Ingo must wait and see if the fans who took him to Top 5 will miraculously make him safe to dance again in next week’s “DWTS” Season 16 finale.
