After tabloids recently claimed Sean and Peta were involved in an affair, Sean was incredulous, telling reporters, “The tabloids have already labeled her the home wrecker.” And the pretty dance pro sighed to reporters, “I’m famous for being a home wrecker now. Whatever!”
It might not have helped matters that Peta played a bride to Sean’s runaway groom during their Monday night tango, which earned a score of 21. Backstage after the show, when a reporter suggested Peta was part of her own soap opera, she said, “Absolutely. And we just got to laugh it off! It’s so ridiculous.”
When asked why people were trying to wreck his relationship with Catherine, Sean said, “I don’t know.” But Peta chimed in, “I know why. Because he’s such a good guy and it’s too good to be true so we’re going to pick everything about him apart, try to find something wrong with him.”
Peta recreated a Katy Perry video for her song Hot N Cold which featured a groom that leaves a woman at the altar. “I thought that would be quite funny with him being the Bachelor,” Peta said.
“Don’t read too much into it,” Sean said dryly.
In fact, Sean is still very much on track to wed Catherine and sings her praises every chance he gets at DWTS. The Bachelor had a rough time on Monday when both of his dances were criticized by judges and he only received a cumulative score of 42 out of 60, the lowest total of the night. “When I perform poorly, I’m dejected and I can’t fake a smile,” he said. “I walked over to [Catherine] after the show was over today and she just said she loved me and she was proud of me so that’s all I can ask for and that did put a smile on my face. She’s the most supportive woman in the world.”
Peta added, “I’ve seen spouses and girlfriends before really attack their guys – ‘you could have done this, this is better’ but she’s always been amazingly supportive. Everything’s just perfect to her.”
So back off, haters! And don’t expect Sean and Catherine to do any more reality TV together. Sean told Xfinitytv he and Catherine refuse to do a newlyweds style reality show. “We’ve been approached for that and we said no. I don’t want to create fake storylines and all that stuff. It just didn’t appeal to either one of us.”
