Here comes Honey Boo Boo for a second season this summer.

TLC announced a premiere date for “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” just a day after Honey Boo Boo’s mother married her long-time companion, the man known to millions of TLC viewers as “Sugar Bear.”

First, the reality show the whole nation was talking about last year will return with new episodes on Wednesday, July 17, at 9/8c. TLC made the announcement first thing on Monday morning — setting the stage for the new, widely anticipated Season 2 of “Here Comes Honey Boo,” starring everyone’s favorite kiddy pageant participant, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, and her family.

The announcement from TLC came a day after Honey Boo Boo’s mother, June Shannon, and long-time companion, Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson got married in their backyard in rural McIntyre, Ga., according to multiple news stories, including this one on The New York Daily News Web site.

The two lovebirds have been involved with each other for at least nine years, according to various on-line sources. The Cinco De Mayo wedding answers one of the questions that were teased in the TLC press release that was sent to reporters on Monday (May 6). It was a question about whether Mama June and Sugar Bear would get married this season.

The real-life wedding on Sunday would appear to provide a “yes” answer. Plus, it seems we can all look forward to seeing the wedding on the show since, according to the press reports, cameras were videotaping the whole thing — from the ceremony to the raucous barbecue that followed.

Twenty-four episodes of “Honey Boo Boo” have aired so far since last summer on TLC, including a handful of holiday-themed specials. There was no word yet on how many episodes are upcoming in the new season.
