Donald Trump has yet another Twitter war on his hands, this time targeting Jon Stewart.
The famed billionaire went on a rant about Stewart, not only calling him a “total phony,” but implying that Stewart was ashamed of his Jewish heritage, after Stewart made a crack on “The Daily Show” about Trump’s real name being “F—face Von Clownstick.”
The exchange actually began April 24, when Trump initially posted a shot at Stewart, writing “I promise you that I’m much smarter than Jonathan Leibowitz – I mean Jon Stewart @TheDailyShow. Who, by the way, is totally overrated.”
Stewart’s “Clownstick” response then served as a retaliation from the host. Unfortunately, the name caught fire and upset the reality host. In return, Trump once again brought up that Stewart didn’t go by his birth name, Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz.
“What’s funny about the name ‘F—face Von Clownstick’ — it was not coined by Jon Leibowitz — he stole it from some moron on Twitter,” Trump wrote. “If Jon Stewart is so above it all & legit, why did he change his name from Jonathan Leibowitz? He should be proud of his heritage!”
Of course, it didn’t end there.
“Jon Stewart @TheDailyShow is a total phony–he should cherish his past–not run from it,” Trump wrote, adding, “As I’ve said many times before, Jon Stewart @TheDailyShow is highly overrated.”
In response, the Twitter account for “The Daily Show” fired a few quips of its own, first writing, “Can’t an overrated Jew have a complicated relationship with his dad without being accused of hiding his heritage? #F—FaceVonClownstick.”
The program then posted, “We seem to have hit a F—face Von Nervestick.”
