“The Little Couple” Bill Klein and Dr. Jennifer Arnold are proudly showing off their newly adopted son, who will make his big debut on the season premiere of their reality show on Tuesday, April 30 at 10/9c on TLC.
It’s a dream come true for the TLC reality stars, who’ve waited a long time to have a child and chronicled their struggles, including a surrogacy that ended in miscarriage, on the show.
But it’s turned from heartbreak to a happy ending. Bill and Jennifer were thrilled to adopt three-year-old William Rijin Klein, who also has dwarfism, earlier this year. William was born in north-central China on February 24, 2010 and the couple welcomed him into their Houston, Texas home on March 5. 2013.
“He’s a really happy guy and has transitioned better than any of us expected,” Jennifer told The New York Post. “He has the best smile on the planet.”
“I walk into a room and see him and I still can’t believe he’s ours,” Klein told People. “We are so deeply in love with him already,” Arnold adds. “It was meant to be.”
Viewers will be introduced to William in Tuesday’s premiere, as the new season follows Bill and Jennifer’s adoption process and their new life with their little one.
And now that there will be a Bill and a Will in the house, Klein explains how they named their son.
“When Jen and I met she started calling me Will,” Klein tells People. “I said, ‘My name is Bill,’ but at least for a weekend she called me Will until she finally gave up.”
“It is a family tradition that the oldest boy in Bill’s family would be William Walter or Walter William,” Arnold further explained. “We can continue part of the tradition but also keep part of his Chinese name and so that’s what we decided to do.”
“The Little Couple” airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on TLC.
