“One Life to Live” star Tuc Watkins is getting candid with Marie Osmond, coming out in public for the first time in a conversation with the cable talk show host on Hallmark Channel’s “Marie.”
The interview will air on Monday, April 29, where Watkins not only reveals that he is gay, but that he was a also new father, welcoming twin sons through a surrogate. The twins, Catchen and Curtis, are now four months old.
He made the reveal while discussing his role on “Desperate Housewives,” where he played one-half of a gay couple looking to adopt a baby.
“I played a gay man, who was married to his husband who was trying to adopt a kid, and in real life, at the same time, I’m a gay single man who was trying to have a kid though surrogacy so art and life were imitating each other,” he said.
“A lot of people at some point in their lives think, ‘Am I going to be a parent? Do I want to be a parent?’” he continued. “And when I was young, I knew three things: I knew I was gay, I knew one day I was gonna be a dad, and I knew that Gene Wilder’s Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was going to be the best movie of all time.”
He then adds, that “So far, I’ve been right about all three.”
Former ABC soap staple “One Life to Life” returns online on Monday as well, with new episodes available on Hulu and iTunes.
