BachelorSean Lowe and his pro partner Peta Murgatroyd surprised reporters on Monday night after “Dancing with the Stars” by joking about his sexual orientation.

After TV rehearsal footage showed Sean developing a man crush on his coach for the week, pro dancer Tristan MacManus, the reality TV star laughed backstage, “Tristan does make me question my sexuality at times. Let’s get those rumors started!”

Partner Peta then joked with a little groan, “Oh, boy. Sean Lowe’s gay!”

But female fans of the hunky fitness nut, who is engaged to his “Bachelor” chosen one Catherine Giudici, needn’t worry! They were just joking. And Sean added, “Tristan’s a guy’s guy. He’s someone that you can quickly become buddies with, which we did this week, and it was fun training with him. I love having fun with him, at Peta’s expense, normally.”

Peta admitted Sean’s bond with Tristan — whose celebrity Dorothy Hamill had to quit earlier this season — made her feel left out. “I was kind of jealous. They would go everywhere together, brush their shoes together, it was awkward and weird, but it was funny,” she said.

Meanwhile, Sean, who was photographed kissing Catherine at a Lakers game this weekend, said his lady love hangs out with him constantly at “DWTS.” “I really don’t talk to her right before I go on but she’ll meet with me in my trailer before I start the show and she always says, ‘Good luck, honey. I’m rooting for you,’ all that stuff, and then no matter how poorly or great I dance, she always says I did a wonderful job.”

“DWTS” Recap: Maks Is Back, First 10s of the Season Scored

On Monday, Sean and Peta got a solid score of 24 out of 30 for their quickstep and he was thrilled with his improvement. “We had a great week of rehearsal and we didn’t have to think so much tonight,” Sean told reporters. “I was able to just go out and perform and have fun with it and I think that’s what the judges picked up on and I think our scores reflected that.”

So what did Catherine think of his Monday night “DWTS” outfit? “She is supportive no matter what I wear and what I look like, but I think she’s really digging the velvet suit,” Sean said. He then turned to Peta and asked his partner about his clothes, “Is this velvet? What is this with the gold rhinestones?”

Well, now we really know he’s not gay!
