Paul Reubens (aka Pee-Wee Herman) is joining the cast of ABC’s spinoff of its fairytale hit, “Once Upon a Time,” Deadline.com reports.

Reubens will provide the voice for The White Rabbit, one of the signature characters from “Alice in Wonderland” for the spinoff called “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.”

He joins Australian actress Sophie Lowe, who’s been cast as Alice, and British actress Emma Rigby, who will play the Red Queen. Barbara Hershey, who plays Cora, the Evil Queen of Hearts, may crossover to the spinoff to appear in a series of flashbacks. If the project is picked up to series, viewers can expect to see “Alice” characters such as The Mad Hatter (played by Sebastian Stan on “OUAT”) and The Chesire Cat, as well.

The potential series from “Once” producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis will be set in Wonderland — pre-curse — and “is told through the point of view of Alice who has a generous heart but carries the scars of a long hard life. She is joined by two other characters, Cyrus (Peter Gadiot), Alice’s love interest with a background shrouded in mystery, and the Knave of Hearts (Michael Socha), a sardonic adventurer, a man of action, a loner and a heart-breaker,” according to Deadline.

Production begins April 7 in Vancouver.

“Once Upon a Time” airs Sundays at 8/7c on ABC.
