“America’s Most Wanted” is no longer wanted… by Lifetime at least.
Lifetime is cancelling the series, according to TV Guide, which has been on the air for 25 seasons. However, host John Walsh may still be a staple on the channel, as Lifetime is ordering a pilot featuring the long-time host called “John Walsh Investigates.” The potential new series would “take a different approach to Walsh’s ongoing crime fighting and victims’ advocacy work,” according to the report.
Since moving to Lifetime, “America’s Most Wanted” ran 44 episodes, which resulted in 36 captures. Overall, and including the show’s long run on Fox until 2011, the series has helped police capture 1,202 fugitives around the world.
Stay tuned to see if the series can resurface on another network one more time…
