Like most first-time moms-to-be, Fergie has “no idea what I’m doing.”

Speaking about her pregnancy for the first time in an interview, the Black Eyed Peas singer appeared Thursday on “Good Morning America,” where she talked about her excitement as she and husband Josh Duhamel enter the wondrous world of parenthood.

“We’re thrilled,” Fergie gushed. “I know that my husband told everybody what I said — my quote when we found out, ‘This [blank] just got real,’” she said. “It’s true, when that moment occurs to you that, yeah, there’s going to be a human being growing inside of you. It’s reality. It’s amazing.”

Fergie, 37, and her Duhamel, 40, announced to the world last month via Twitter they are expecting their first child.

“I have no idea what I’m doing!” Fergie admitted, who added she’s been “feeling great” and has only experienced “a little bit” of morning sickness. “I’m just going to play it by ear and see how things go, and let the natural instincts kick in.”

The proud papa is also on board with the learn-as-you-go approach to parenting.

“My mom and dad were great. They were young when they had me, so they were learning as they go. Just like I’ll learn as I go,” Duhamel told “Access Hollywood” as he prepares to host the 2013 “Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.”

“I’m looking forward to every little thing – all of it,” Duhamel added. “I’m even looking forward to waking up at night and doing what everybody says you’re going to dread. I’ve heard all the horror stories and they can’t possibly be as bad as they say it is!”

Oh, it can be Josh, you wait and see … but you’ll love it anyway.
