HBO has cancelled the dramedy “Enlightened” after two seasons.

The half-hour series, created and written by Mike White, starred Laura Dern as a woman trying to pull herself together after having a nervous breakdown.

The cable network announced the decision not to move forward with a third season on Tuesday.

“It was a very difficult decision. We’re proud of the show and we look forward to working with Mike White and Laura Dern in the future.”

While “Enlightened” did not shine in the ratings, it did get its star notice at awards show time; Dern won the Golden Globe in 2012 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical.
