“Saturday Night Live” head writer and “Weekend Update” anchor Seth Meyers was in awe of the former “SNL” guest-hosts who turned up last weekend to induct Justin Timberlake into their “Five Timers Club.”

Meyers talked about the experience when he appeared Friday night on David Letterman’s “Late Show” on CBS.

It was the last word on that now-legendary Five Timers Club induction that aired last Saturday on “SNL” — a sketch that included appearances by Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin, Paul Simon, Martin Short, Dan Aykroyd, Chevy Chase and Candice Bergen.

The sketch came as part of Justin Timberlake’s opening monologue on “SNL” — his fifth time as guest-host — kicking off his week of performances on NBC. He followed his “SNL” stint with five days of appearances on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” that ended Friday night.

Meyers’ account of what went on behind the scenes between the “competitive” former “SNL” stars and guest-hosts was hilarious. Watch it in the clip above.
