Judge Judy Sheindlin may be going from behind the bench to in front of one.
The famed daytime personality, who presides over “Judge Judy” in syndication, is being sued by the ex-wife of a producer on Judy’s show who claims that the Judge conspired with her co-worker to rip her off, according to TMZ.
The lawsuit says that while Judy’s producer Randy Douthit was in the midst of a divorce from wife Patric Jones, Douthit sold Judy valuable Christofle tableware far under market value just so she wouldn’t get it. Now Jones is suing Judy for $514,421.14 (or a return of the tableware), claiming that Judy bought the items for $50,000, knowing that the deal was going to hurt Jones.
Of course, Judge Judy didn’t hold back with her opinion on the lawsuit.
“I have not seen any complaint by the former Mrs. Douthit, however, I don’t owe this lady a cent,” she told TMZ. “And if this 50-year-old woman would spend her time more productively at trying to find a job, instead of abusing the judicial system with frivolous lawsuits, we would all be a lot better off.”
