Don’t expect a Honey Boo Booflavor of Girl Scout cookie anytime soon.
Thompson began offering the cookies, complete with autographs from the family, to her more than 700,000 fans on her Facebook page. However the Girl Scouts of the USA is making her shut down her campaign.
Apparently, the organization feels that her social media marketing is unfair to other Girl Scouts, plus it turns out that Honey Boo Boo isn’t even a member of the organization. Instead, she is helping a friend with her sales. A rep for GSUSA told TMZ that selling the cookies online defeats the point of selling the cookies, which is designed to help girls learn to set goals, work with people and more.
The Facebook ads have now been pulled, although the sales will still be counted.
