Connie Britton’s Rayna Jaymes has suffered her fair share of indignities on “Nashville” lately, and Wednesday night’s episode is no exception.
With her divorce from Teddy (Eric Close) becoming public tabloid fodder, Rayna is forced to endure a humiliating encounter with a nosey mom at her daughters’ dance recital.
Adding insult to injury, the prying lenses of the paparazzi are there to greet her when she exits the dance studio. Take a look at how she handles the double dose of humiliation below.
If a silver lining does exist, let’s hope it’s in the form of Deacon Claybourne (Charles Esten). During a surprise party for her former love-bandleader, Rayna puts it all on the line with a heartbreaking solo performance. Afterward, she apologizes for not informing him of the divorce sooner and makes a touching confession that she wants “to do right” by him. Now if only they would just kiss (again) and make up…
Here’s ABC’s full description of tonight’s episode, “Dear Brother”:

As Rayna and Teddy’s divorce moves forward, the tabloids move in, speculating about Rayna’s cheating and thrusting her children into the spotlight; Teddy decides to bring Peggy into his mayoral fold and holds a press conference to make it look like it’s all business; and Gunnar’s brother charms Scarlett with his singing.
