Carell will appear on an upcoming episode, puttering around the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas, where he’ll be seen negotiating with cast member Rick over an item that interests him, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Carell and his daughter are apparently big fans of the hit History Channel series, so he was game to appear on the show.
The actor also filmed a promotional tie-in to his new film, “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone,” in which Carell plays a Vegas magician. In a “Pawn Stars” segment slated to air during the March 11 episode, Rick calls in an “expert” to help him assess the value of a magician’s costume, and — ta da! — it’s Steve Carell.
As for TV fans still hoping to see Carell help send off “The Office” when the sitcom ends on May 16, don’t hold your breath. There are no plans for Michael Scott to appear in the series finale…that is unless NBC has a magic trick up its sleeve and pulls off a super secret cameo.
Carell’s guest appearance on “Pawn Stars” will air sometime this spring. “Burt Wonderstone” opens in theaters March 15.
